Why LDL Cholesterol can prove dangerous?

LDL cholesterol is very harmful when not balanced properly with HDL cholesterol. This is a result of LDL cholesterol’s common behaviour which is to line itself to the arterial wall. LDL cholesterol is picked up by the higher density HDL cholesterol and returned to the liver where it can be disposed of properly. LDL cholesterol levels can vary but keeping them in balance is critical for preventing heart disease and hypertension.
The chances a patient has of avoiding heart attack and disease are usually based on the physicians knowledge of HDL to LDL cholesterol ratio and how it affects the chances of heart disease. HDL to LDL cholesterol levels are very important in determining the risk factor of a patient even at a young age.
There are several day to day changes you can make to lower LDL cholesterol. These include lowering your daily intake of fatty meats and deep fried foods, frequent exercise, increased intake of fresh, dark green vegetables, and avoiding excessive consumption of alcohol. LDL cholesterol can also be lowered by increasing HDL cholesterol intake. The two attract each other, and since HDL cholesterol cannot adhere to the arterial wall like LDL cholesterol can, they are pulled back through the circulatory system and return to the liver. The liver then disposes of both HDL and LDL cholesterol from there into the bowels, thus ridding the patient of the problem.
