What Does It Mean By HDL And LDL Ratio?

Cholesterol is commonly known to be bad for you. However this is a half-truth believed mostly by people who do not do research into their beliefs. Cholesterol, like fat, is found in both good and bad forms. The form that gives cholesterol a bad name and causes heart disease is low density or LDL cholesterol. It creates problems in the body by building up on the arterial walls and lowering the volume of blood that can flow through as a result. The good stuff that few people know about is formally called high density or HDL cholesterol. High density cholesterol acts like a magnet for low density cholesterol and carries back to the liver so your body may dispose of it accordingly. Therefore in order to prevent heart disease you must mange your HDL to LDL ratio. This will ensure your risk of heart disease is lowered. The blockage of arteries that occurs from a poor HDL to LDL ratio is professionally referred to as CDL.
The effectiveness of a health care professional when dealing with heart disease is their understanding of the HDL to LDL ratio. If they are not capable of understanding how it can be used to predict the risk of heart disease in the patient, then they can offer little protection to the patients health. Although it is a costly procedure to test for HDL to LDL ratio it is a crucial step in the diagnosis process. It accurately measures risks of heart disease and other issues related to CDL. The patient could be at very high risk of heart disease id the HDL to LDL ratio is reading above 11.0, and a medium risk if it falls between 7.1 and 11.0 after testing.
