Drug Allergy | Super Infection of Drugs

Drugs are life saving elements which are required in milligrams to micrograms. They play a vital role in recovering from diseases caused by wide range of infectious organisms viz. virus, bacteria, fungus, protozoa, etc. at the same time, drugs are seems to cause side effects apart from curing diseases. In some cases, they are evolving panic conditions to the patients, instead of curing the known disease for which they are actually prescribed for. Those side effects may be preliminary to vital depend on the immunity of the patient.

Some of the adverse effects may be rashes, itching over the body, stomach upset, nauseating vomit, diarrhea, anxiety, rapid pulse, etc.

Penicillin is the most common drug reported to cause adverse effect also triggering to allergic reactions. Some other drugs including sulfa drugs, barbiturates, anticonvulsants, insulin, etc are also suspected to worse the condition, which was diagnosed for. Skin test is carried out to diagnose the allergic reaction of particular drug.

Usage of multidrug for a particular disease might lead to drug reaction also changing the form of medication also lead to side effects. Skin tests are rapid, simple and relatively safe which performs a good role in pointing out the causes of allergies. Though it is easy it cannot be performed in patients with extensive eczema and those who have severe anaphylactic reactions.

Another thing to be taken into account, the date of manufacture and expiry of particular drug for treatment. Because most of the drugs which crossed the expiry date may lack in the activity, but fewer number of drugs also may cause drug allergy.
