Semen Allergy | Rare But Serious Sperm Allergy

A rare allergic reaction ever compared to others. Its symptoms include vaginal itching, burning and swelling in the genital area after intercourse. There are also systemic reactions reported as troublesome in breathing, hives and sift tissues swelling. Such symptom occurs within 20 to 30 minutes but last for more than hour to days.

Semen allergy may be diagnosed with those medicated tests such as home HIV tests, Chlamydia tests, Hepatitis test, etc. generally, people are allergic to protein in semen. As many of the protein associated with the semen allergy are found to be common. The systemic reaction is believed to be triggered by protein linked to specific antibody. Similar to other allergic reactions, delayed hypersensitivity occurs with semen allergy.

Women who are allergic to the semen are more likely to use condoms to prevent the condition getting worsen. Whereas in need of pregnancy, then artificial insemination is the only way to start with. Some of them describe the severity of pain equivalent to that of acupuncture therapy. At the same time, assurance is must whether those women who are susceptible to semen allergy alone but devoid of any other congenital diseases.

Extreme cases of semen allergy is characterized by difficulty in breathing and rare systemic reactions, etc. However, the condition is treated by undergoing a course of desensitization treatment, which involves placing a sample of sperm inside the vagina and observing for allergic reaction. Gradually, the amount of sample is increased when there is decreasing graph of pain and allergy. Also intrauterine insemination and in vitro fertilization are two methods of artificial reproduction methods to help in pregnancy.
