High protein Supplements: The trouble they may lead to

One of the most discussed and fussed over topics among the gym goers is the side effects of protein supplements.

The protein supplements are sort of good for people lacking good protein content in their regular diets. However, as excess of everything is bad, so is the excess of these protein supplements. It does not help in increasing your performance or muscle mass; instead it can lead to severely serious side effects.

Side effects of protein supplements include formation of excess gas in the gut due to the presence of egg, milk and soy proteins in the supplement.
Remember that the most important and common side effect of protein supplements is an unwanted gain in weight. That is due to the fact that whatever excess protein our body encounters is converted into fat and stored under the skin. Next, it leads to increase in urea levels in the body which in turn may lead to dehydration.
People prone to trouble in kidneys may have another severe side effect of protein supplements that is an accelerated decline in their functions. This can be observed if a person takes more than 1.3g per kilo gram body weight of protein daily, whether through the protein supplements or by the natural diets.
