The reality behind postpartum depression

Postpartum depression is a sub division of clinical depression. This form of depression mainly affects women than men. This disorder manly occurs after women have given birth to the child. The percentage of women getting Postpartum depression after childbirth is 5% to 25%. This type of depression is also seen in new fathers. Their percentage of getting this disorder is 1% to 25%. But this depression is well known among the new mothers. They can get this disorder in a period of time between the first few months and they can even last up to a year. Sadness and fatigue are the major symptoms. They are the main symptoms of Postpartum depression. The person’s eating habits also changes very much. Some people will eat a lot more than their normal diet. Some others will eat a lot less than their usual eating habit. This eating will affect their weight too. Some will get over weight and others will go under weight. The symptoms can include crying temptation, anxiety and high irritation. It’s even said that the cause of this disorder is the lack of the essential vitamins. But there is another theory which says that hormones are the reason for this disorder. Many people can be saved from this disorder by perfect measures such as counseling and support. The person suffering from Postpartum depression will feel that he/she is very weak and they cannot even do things which they have done very easily in their past(before the disorder). Postpartum depression is curable to an extent
