Dust Allergy | How Are Dust Allergies Diagnosed?

Dust is a combined collection of dust mites, pet dander and remains of insects. It is common to see anyone getting affected due to the dust creating an allergic reaction exhibited by sneezing, coughing, skin rashes, crusting of eyelids, post nasal trip, and dark circle around the eyes. The condition will get worsen in the night or when the humidity is raised.

People who are susceptible to dust allergy are instructed to visit concerned allergist and take a consultation regarding the infection usually allergic test involves placement of sample of dust under the skin via minor scratch and indication of pinkish or reddish patches or rashes shows the onset of symptoms to dust allergy. In such cases, concerned person is advised to avoid contact with dust to a greater extent. Besides this, they are advised to maintain cleanliness as it’s next to godliness. They are supposed to live in low humid condition thereby they can get rid of dust mite’s contact.

Apart from above precaution also there are some medicines that are used to reduce the dust allergy.

Antihistamines : to reduce runny nose, sneezing etc.

Cromolyn sodium : a nasal spray that prevent contacting allergens.

Eye drops : prevent itchy and watery eyes also crusting of eyelids

Steroids nasal spray: prevent the reaction of inhaled allergens

Decongestants : to get relieved from stuffy nose

Prevention is better than cure so it good to be clean that may avoid formation of dusts and other dirt which is the causative organism of dust allergies.
